i have the flu. as you can see from this map i am not alone. DIANNA also has the flu. somehow lindsay has escaped. (is she really human?)
so i have just been sitting around for the past 4 days. i am really bored and sick of being sick. i am super caught up on the news and am even reading the new yorker and the atlantic.
i am madder at my flu because it is happening during washington's most charming time of year: spring. the cherry blossoms popped on friday. and i still haven't seen them. i think for the sake of keeping my sanity, i am going to go down there this afternoon.
here are few things i have learned the last little bit:
- John McCain is going crazy. he thinks any old joe can stroll around baghdad, even though he will only do it if he is accompanied by 100 soldiers, 3 blackhawks, 2 apache gunships (how much do you think that cost US tax payers? because you know, all the security at the embassy is privately contracted.)
- i still love high fidelity
- tom yum broth from old siam is really great for your throat.
- being sick is better if you have a friend who is also sick. but still it isn't that great.
- missing work because you are sick sounds cool on paper, but it isn't. it is just boring.
- it is better to miss work "because you are sick" and not be sick.
- ash from your fireplace is good on your garden. it makes the soil more basic (conteracts the acid) and thus grows better tomatoes.
- if you like athletic or outdoor gear steep and cheap is really awesome
- we learned how to go big time into the blogosphere by posting onto the dailykos we used the name the virgin of shagdad. for obvious reasons.
